Concussions

A concussion is a minor traumatic brain injury that may occur when the head hits an object, or a moving object strikes the head. A lot of times concussions are caused from a violent jarring or shacking of the head that results in a disturbance of the brain function. Falling, sports activities, and car accidents are the leading causes of concussions. Symptoms include confusion, headaches, nausea, vomiting, etc. Sometimes its not always apparent if a person has a concussion. To find out doctors might take and EEG, a head CT scan, or an MRI of the brain. There is no immediate cure for a concussion. the only ways to cure a concussion is to rest, avoid bright lights, and don't do anything that overstimulates the brain. one way to prevent concussions when doing sports is to always wear safety gear such as a helmet.

  1. Hey, I thought your blog was really good. My sister had a concussion a few weeks ago and it helped me understand what happened and why she was acting the way she did.

  2. The article is very factual and very straight forward. One time I was at the barn with my friend, when she fell off her horse and got a concussion. The only thing I would say would be to double check the grammar, but overall good job!
